Intro to Careers in Education

This course is designed to introduce students to the various careers in Education including pre-k, elementary, secondary, and special education. It is a prerequisite (or can be taken concurrently) to the Child Development and Eraly Childhood Education Courses.

This course is designed to introduce students to the development of children from birth to 2 1/2 years of age. It emphaseizes typical and atypical development in the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional domains.

This course is designed to introduce students to the development of children from 2 1/2 to 6 years of age. It emphasizes typical and atypical development in the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional domains.

This course introduces students to major topics concerning Special Education in schools, including federal and state laws, agencies, programs, and Special Education teaching practices.

My name is Bill Masei, this is my 26th year teaching and 13th year at DHS. I graduated from Pacific University with an M.A.T, and the University of Hawaii with a B.S in Managerial Economics. In addition to teaching and coaching at DHS, I work for a promotions company in Salem, Marketing events, creating and delivering marketing campaigns for local businesses and political campaigns. Prior to my teaching career, I worked in the investment banking for Bank of America, Commercial Real Estate industry for HARSCH Investment Corp, Sales and Marketing director for Spa Fitness Center and had internships out of college with the Seattle Seahawks (NFL) and the Portland Trailblazers (NBA).
